IDOL GIRLS: EVERYONE LOVES

IDOL GIRLS: EVERYONE LOVES
Release Date:
5/6/13
Label:
Beijing Idol Entrainment
Idol Girls' new single "Everyone Loves" is a magnificent gem of a rock-kissed pop song. The B-sides are great, too.

Idol Girls is a Chinese Mandopop girl group who've taken a lot of criticism from Girls' Generation fans ever since they debuted. Basically, GG fans thought Idol Girls were a copycat group trying to rip off GG fans. There were two reasons for this controversy. First, Idol Girls had nine members when they started off, just like GG. Second, Idol Girls did a cover of GG's "Genie" but GG fans didn't think it was a cover. They thought Idol Girls were stealing GG's music and trying to pass it off as their own, like they'd written it.

4MINUTE: NAME IS 4MINUTE

20 May, 2013 - 09:39
4MINUTE: NAME IS 4MINUTE
Release Date:
4/29/13
Label:
Universal Music (South Korea)
The girls of 4Minute delve deeper into hip-hop here on their 4th mini-album but the results are red hot.

Name is 4Minute is K-Pop girl group 4Minute's fourth mini-album. "4Minute, what's my name?" they ask, hip-hop style, during the enticing and suspense-building intro track, "What's My Name?" The track features layers of electrifying synth and hard-driving beats. It also has a lot more vocals -- both singing and hip-hop -- than your typical K-Pop intro track. To that end, it feels like an actual song... Until it ends rather abruptly at 1:19.

SUPER REVIEW TIME: Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger Brave 11!

16 May, 2013 - 17:00

Just when you thought it wouldn't get here, Jmann finally got his crap together so he and SentaiSeiya could continue on their journey of magic and Dinobonoids!

JM: Alright. So the episode starts off with Boss Chaos regenerating Dogold by allowing the Dogold armor to consume a Cambeastian. I think that was a pretty neat way to have Dogold remain relevant after losing his own body in the fight with Utchy (Kyoryu Gold). To make a long story short, they use a new monster called Debo Spineless to remove peoples' neck bones.
