Spotted Online – The Fwoosh Reviews Aurora, an Unofficial Throttlebot

Battlegrip.com - 17 May, 2013 - 02:39
By now you may be sick of Aurora (review here), but I’m certainly not. I’ll keep pounding out the message that ToyWorld’s unofficial Transformers Throttlebots have — so far — been incredible as long as it takes to convince everyone out there to give one of the toys a shot. Fortunately, I’m not alone in broadcasting this message. In addition... Read more →

Kenner’s Centurions Toy Commercial from 1986

Battlegrip.com - 17 May, 2013 - 01:50
Kenner sure tried a lot of stuff once Star Wars sales died off in the eighties. M.A.S.K., Super Powers, and Aliens were just some of the toys they tried to use to replace Star Wars, but nothing they released ever came close to the Star Wars sales levels of the late seventies and the early eighties. But they tried and... Read more →

New Banimon Tomorrow Night

Glyos Transmission Blog - 16 May, 2013 - 20:54
2-D Design ace and master of all things Banimon, Boris Savic, has prepared a brand new wave of plastic action for release tomorrow night, May 17th at 9PM EST in the Banimon store.

From the Banimon blog:

So as the drop date is approaching, the details are slowly unfolding. As far as toys are concerned, we will have two new colorways: the Revolutionary Guard (Red Army Men faction) and Ghost Troopers (Banigoth faction). Colors are blue with red paint and detail lines, and Glow in the dark with Black paint apps and no detail lines. There will also be some brand-new Banimon content detailing the clash of these two elite units in a fierce battle for Planet Havvacor, and a special, limited-edition t-shirt.

The blue that Boris chose for the Revolutionary Guard is really stunning in hand, and pulls off quite a unique look with the red detail lines in place.  For the Ghost Troopers he selected a high contrast black for the spray applications, and the effect is extremely crisp and completely ominous -especially once the lights go out!

Our crew is very excited to see what Boris unveils tomorrow night!

Keep cranking B!

SUPER REVIEW TIME: Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger Brave 11!

Otaku.CollectionDX - 16 May, 2013 - 17:00

Just when you thought it wouldn't get here, Jmann finally got his crap together so he and SentaiSeiya could continue on their journey of magic and Dinobonoids!

JM: Alright. So the episode starts off with Boss Chaos regenerating Dogold by allowing the Dogold armor to consume a Cambeastian. I think that was a pretty neat way to have Dogold remain relevant after losing his own body in the fight with Utchy (Kyoryu Gold). To make a long story short, they use a new monster called Debo Spineless to remove peoples' neck bones.

Hotaru no Hikari is a popular Japanese women's romance comic written and illustrated by Satoru Hiura. It was serialized in Kodansha's Kiss magazine from 2004 to 2009 and was collected in 15 volumes with a total of 3.8 million copies in circulation. The live-action HOTARUNOHIKARI: IT'S ONLY A LITTLE LIGHT IN MY LIFE (ホタルノヒカリ, Hotaru no Hikari) television series was aired from July 2007, starring Haruka Ayase and Naohito Fujiki, it marked high viewership ratings and instantly became all the rage among mostly female viewers. It depicts the love life of Hotaru Amemiya, who is like a "dried fish" in that she has basically given up on love and would rather be lounging around at home, even though most other women her age are actively seeking love and building their careers in the ocean of their twenties. But Hotaru's personality and way of life gained the support of many women who felt the same way as her but couldn't really come out and admit it. The work created quite a stir and the expression "dried fish woman" (himono-onna) was even nominated as one of the most popular words of the year. The second season was aired three years later in July 2010 and the work's popularity proved to be long-lived, inspiring the production of the much-awaited movie spinoff. Continued...
