The folks over at Kotobukiya are always super good to us. Shingo Nakagawa gives us the V.I.P. tour of all their offerings. Seriously Shingo goes over EVERYTHING you could want to know about all of their upcoming products so be sure to watch the video. Here are the highlights...
Star Wars Artfx+ continues to be a strong focus for Kotobukiya and they had the display to prove it.
We are told there where 100 Stormtroopers out on display.
The Cloud City diorama on display looked very cool. Kotobukyia is considering making it for manufacture, only time will tell.
Commander Cody is due later this year and looked stunning. This piece will feature a light-up Darth Sidious/Palpatine hologram to reenact the infamous Order 66 moment. Also included will be an alternate hand holding a battle droid head and Obi-Wan Kenobi's lightsaber.
Based on illustrations by Katsushika Hokusai, Darth Maul is posed in samurai-like style. Maul's lightsaber even lights-up. This looks great in photos but was jaw droopingly beautiful in person. In 1/7th scale this guy is due next month stateside.
Themed chopsticks continue to sell like gangbusters for Kotobukyia and they are expanding into even more styles from Animals to Evangelion.
As if they are waging their own personal war on a boring dinner table Kotobukiya is releasing Star Wars themed Ice Cube Trays. Yeah, that's right you to can have little frozen Han-In-Carbonite's and R2-D2's floating in your beverage of choice.
Heck, there made of silicon and can be used for baking as well! Only $9.99. Simple. Silly. And completely awesome!
Marvel Fine Art Statues are out in force and look lovely. I am not much of a Marvel guy myself but Marvel fans should be excited at their upcoming Thor or Danger Room Training series.
Psylocke and Gambit will feature light up parts as well.
SD Model Kits were on display but nothing we haven't seen already.
Mega Man model kits are coming but you knew that already. proto man and Megaman are both due soon.
Ani-Statues are the other super popular line from Kotobukyia and with good reason, their bishoujo figures are the finest in the industry.
Black Magician Girl from Yu-Gi-Oh! is apparently their best selling pre-order ever. Guess all those Yu-Gi-Oh! players grew up and got hormones.
Asuka and Rei re-themed figures continue to be like printing money.
Marvel Bishojo features redesigned female characters done by famous pin-up artist, Shunya Yamashita.
Invisible Woman is one the newly announced additions to the line-up. love the bits of the energy barrier.
Emma Frost is out now and our review will be up on ACDX very soon.
Phoenix from X-Men. Where exactly is that Jet coming from again?
Ms.Marvel is also an upcoming addition. Note the transparent effect parts.
Black Cat looked suitable adorable and enticing. No one has done this re-theming of existing licensed comic characters better than Koto and Shunya Yamashita.
DC Bishojo was also out in force.
Bat Girl is out on store shelves now...
..as is Cat Woman.
Wonder Woman and Super Girl are the next big releases in the DC Bishojo. That Wonder Woman... stunning.
Super Girl and Bishojo seem to be a natural fit.
I LOVE Shunya Yamashita's bishojo work for Kotobukyia but I'm not into Marvel and DC statues. if only someone would do bishojo themed figures from famous Movies... wait is that Ghostbusters?!?
Yes. Looking way sexier than any of the guys in the famous jumpsuit is a lovely Shunya Yamashita designed Cutie.
We are told there are several more "Movie themes' already sketched up but we got no hints on what they where. I can't wait to see more.
