  • I didnt expect to find a review here. Nice job. I have all 3 of the sets as well. While a clusterf***, its still pretty nice how everything goes on (the combined mode is essentaily complete once you make the 8 part combiner, 12 parts just adds more weapons and armour). Once completed it is a sight to behold. and the fact that they made nearly all of the holy beasts have a special feature was neat (thought not all of them are outstanding).

  • F-4 Phantom

While the hand pegs look to be about the same thickness, the F-4's forearms end at an angle that makes impossible to fit the F-16's guns in there.

How I wish they would update the designs into today's aesthetics and materials while still retaining the go-bots look :)

  • Stock is now VERY low on these. Only 3 left! I'm not planning on being involved in producing any more either so this might well be the last time these are made. So if you're on the fence, don't hesitate.

  • F-4 Phantom

I was wondering whether the A3 Phantom's rifle can be swapped with that of the A3 Fighting Falcon?

The makers of the figure rationalised the choice of the AMWS-21 on the Phantom since they said it should be depicting its newest variant, though the Americans hardly used this machine on the frontlines and it was officially retired in 2001. I think nations such as Turkey and Egypt make better representatives of the Phantom since they have depicted battle scenarios.

The Phantom should look more like an antique rather than a shelved away American machine if it was equipped with the older WS-16C rifle. On the other hand, the US F-16C Fighting Falcon which appeared in Total Eclipse was equipped with the newer AMWS-21.

Coincidentally, both of these two A3 Volks releases with the default attached weapons are the only mechs that have never appeared in any written scenario so far, not even Hobby Japan's serialised TSFiA.

  • I wanna watch all of the UC era in chronological order eventually; I just conveniently started watching Gundam in the AC era(s).

It's certainly one of the best Machine Robo figures out there. Although I must say the F-15 mode could be a little better proportioned ;3

  • I'm staring at the RG kit while looking down the ominous task of the Perfect Grade GP-01 and I was kind of hoping Bandai would have given us a two-fer instead of two separate kits, but whatever prints more money right?

  • 0083 was a great OAV. It's depressing, but a well rounded story filling the post One Year War, pre-Zeta era.

  • I for one love seeing any and all pop culture stuff from the 70s and 80s on the podcast. I can't get enough of nostalgia! Throwing episodes like these in among the standard genre movies and shows seems like a good idea.

I'm tickled to have won the contest and will be contacting you via email shortly. Thanks!

  • This definitely supports my theory that while it will have a PS multicolored injection and ABS inner frame, we're still DIY on the whole variant process. So Skull Squadron fans, get your black and yellow paint ready!

  • Taobaoring is your 3rd party service, but they take no responsibility on your purchase. You go onto Taobao.com and pick up purchase, paste the link on Taobaoring for them to buy them on your behalf.

However, the tricky part is knowing and picking what is right on the Taobao.com. This set has a mini SD version which is crappy, but there are sellers who lurks around posting them as the larger (this version on the review) and sell them for dirt cheap.

Also Taobaoring does take very long maybe a couple of days to get back on their process. Its not an instant turn around pick and pay type.

This set of 12 which would combine into the "megazords" is around $80 dollars before shipping and middleman fee. After everything is done you are looking at around $150.

  • This piece is too beautiful to be a toy. I love it :)

  • I'm really liking the look of that 1/72 VF-1, but I'll probably wait for a TV Series color variant. Very nice that they give you multiple heads that you can use rather than releasing each variant separately.

  • There have already been plenty of pictures and reviews posted of the Strike, and since it's about to come out there's no reason to show it here. It inherits the inner frame and general designs from the previous, Duel, Buster, and Blitz Gundams. Very little of the kit, if any, is shared from the old MG strike.

  • I'm not happy with the RX-78 3.0. The way I see it, Real Grades are one line and Master Grades another. Master Grades should not try to mimic them and eschew anime accuracy. Not to mention there are still so many designs that need 2.0s.

The RG GP01's are coming along nicely. May pick those up.

That MG Geara Doga is looking nice, especially the inner frame. I always love it when Bandai stops for a bit to give grunt suits some love. Can we a get Jegan now, too?

Overall, the hobby show was rather disappointing to me, since Bandai was promising a "big MG kit announcement" and I was expecting something other than ANOTHER RX-78-2. Don't get me wrong, the RX-78 a fine design, but I wish Bandai would stop milking it for cash so often.

  • Hmm... in that case I may need a third party who can help me get these.

  • 20th anniversary!? Man, I feel old... and I need to sit down someday and actually watch the show.

  • I'm actually sort of getting off the Master Grade wagon and takeing more and more interest in RG's and HG's. I'm more excited for the two versions of the GP-01 than I was for the Destiny and deeply hope we get an RG GP-02 soon! That beast of a machine would look magnificent in this style.

  • Careful when you use Taobaoring service, they are like ebay without the ebay/paypal protections. Dont buy from any sellers with low rating and dont buy items that have low rating on it as well. If it's too good to be true then they arent legit.

  • meh, don't care about AGE-2.
i would like to see more pictures of the upcoming MG Strike.... would be nice to know in what ways it's different from the older kit, apart from the wings on the aile striker..

and GP-01 (and Fb- version) desperately need new MG kits

  • I hear there is a JJ-verse U.S.S. Enterprise model on display at this show. True?

    EVA_Unit_4A   2日 7時間 ago
  • Ooh, another AGE Gundam. Woo-hoo.

    /sarcasm

The original 1/144 GP-01Fb Zephyranthes was my very first Gunpla back in the day. Ironically I still haven't seen "0083- Stardust Memory", but I have nostalgia for the Full Burner mod.

    SD Hi-v FTW!
