Updated Photos from Yamato of 1/60 Strike VF-1S ValkryieSubmitted by Atom on 13 June, 2008 - 11:50.
Yamato has updated their site with new detailed photos of the upcoming Strike VF-1S. This fabulous looking set is due at the end of the month.
Source: http://www.yamato-toys.com/dev/cont_049/index.html Looks good now that I see them next to each other. I was lamenting ordering one since I've got so many Valkyries already, including several in 1/48, one more just felt like overkill. Don't fret, this is Yamato, you'll see the same ones done before, spread out over a year or two. I'm just hoping these don't suffer too much of the curse of Yamato when it comes to first releases. I'm not really into valkyries/macross. And just like the transformers, they just don't give me the itch. I'm more into the old super robots-type. But after seeing these pics, with all the nice details, I must say that I'm impressed. Really impressed. Oh, oh..its started again.:) The 1/60 Valks are around 8 icnes high and the 1/48 are around 11 inches. The new hands for the 1/60 look a lot better than the 1/48. The YF-21 does not seem to have any first run quality control problems from the reviews I have read, so hopefully Yamato do the same with the VF-1S. That is exactly what I am thinking and hoping for. Word is they have a new person in charge of Quality Control and it appears to be having an impact. Their last few releases have all been decent. ___________________ I hope they start churning these out so we can get the VF-1A Cannon Fodder, one of my favs and Max, Millia etc. I would also like to see some enemy mecha released. |

The 1/60 certainly looks nice, though the only offering currently are the VF-1S Roy Folker & VF-1A Hilaru type in the movie.
I'd love to get the TV version of Max and Milla VF-1J, or perhaps the Hikaru type with newly designed armored parts. I hate the 1/48 armored parts.
I hope I don't have to wait too long.
