SDCC08: Yamato USASubmitted by JoshB on 31 July, 2008 - 07:56.
Yamato had a smallish presence at SDCC - much smaller than I had anticipated. They were sharing a space with AAAnime, a distributor, so a lot of things on display weren't actually thiers. Of course, we have video: The main draw for us here was the GNU figures, most notably the giant GNU Danguard Ace. This thing is massive! We got a peek at the instructions and the box size, and it looks so great. Looks like the tray is going to be styrofoam. They also had the next 5 GNU figures on display - no Macross stuff (due to licensing). Yamato's Fantasy figures bring famous fantasy artists works to 3D Bubblegum Crisis Motoslave VMF Motoko Kusanagi. We'll have reviews of both this and the Motoslave up soon. AAAnime had a few things on display that I had not seen before. Fist of the North Star Revoltech Street Fighter Revoltech There's lots more images, including Figma and other girly figs, in our SDCC08 Galleries. More:
News | San Diego Comic-Con 2008 | Yamato Awsome! Revoltech kenshiro! I must stress this for those who have not seen Danguard in person. Man! Danguard is huge (about 13" tall) and full of diecast goodness! I bet it will tip the scales at alomost 2 lbs. -Shogundan CollectionDX Staff |

The GNU Dancouga looks very interesting, as well as that GoShogun. I recently bought (and am currently waiting for) the CM's Brave Gokin GoShogun and I may buy this one to keep it company.
And of course I like the girly figures, but knowing my family, they would most likely look down on me for buying any.
