1- I don't own a cell phone
2- I don't use social networks such as Twitter
3- Why bother with a social network when I can go straight to the source just as easily???

1) Twitter isn't just just for cell phones I use it mostly on my desktop. (Really Eva you don't own a cell phone in the 21st century?!)
2) I wouldn't really call it a social network, it's about content and links not your profile.
3) Twitter is very much become THE WAY to get up to the minute content of what you dig most. It is THE way to interact with those whose content you enjoy.
I think we will find with this poll Josh that most "toy collectors" are technological curmudgeon. And with that I am At0mXII on twitter! Follow me I actually post stuff. Josh dosen't, hehe. :)

1) As a person with Asperger's synmdrome (not exactly socially-adept animals by our very nature, we Aspies), who exactly would I call other than doctors and the DVR?
2) IMO, with the exception of e-mail, a "social network" is any website or phone application that allows mass viewing of content that is uploaded at any time and allows 'friend-ing'. So, basically I lump chat rooms/PMing, Twitter, Facebook, etc. all in the same pile. (See #1.)
3) When I have to check-up on you 20 times a day to see that you blew your nose or picked-up a new purse (or is that "picked your nose" and "blew-up your purse"?), I clearly have way too much time on my hands, and I also find it a perverted sense of invasion of privacy even if wanted attention is the ultimate goal. And, oh, BTW, why not just use the phone as an actual phone and call or text a person?
Social networks are a trend of instant gratification that I will probably never fully understand.

You and me both, EVA. You and me both. And yes, before anyone asks, I, too, do have, off the record, Asperger's Syndrome.

i dont know about you guys but i just visit ngee khiongs blogspot =P
@Prometheum5 Just like everywhere else.
I only started using twitter last year to follow one or two special club things, but once I realized just how many people were on there, it became both a useful hobby source and social site. I still don't have or follow very many people, but it's quite useful for the ones I do, and the speed at which you can transmit news directly to other people is a powerful tool.
That said, I assume most of CDX doesn't use it... you guys are all too old :P

Introducing Prometheus Rising Studio.

Come check out the debut of the Killer Culture line of resin figures!
Check out my blog, custom toy store, and studio.
Eh. I usually do see the news and such when checking the sites themselves, but there's been enough times where I've relied on Twitter for news that I've missed where's it's become worth using. I'm p2wsecretcode on the Twits.
Hell, just discovered Facebook. I don't need no stinkin' Twitter :)
I consider Facebook as a good way to keep in touch with friends and make new ones. I have never used Twitter and I do not have a mobile phone. I'm pretty much like Shinji Ikari but have a lot more combat spirit!
Not really so much toy news, as it is for me to keep track of CDX stuff, if it ever comes up.
twitter is one more thing that makes me feel
like I'm getting stretched in every direction
E-mail, instant messaging, blogs, forums,
facebook, twitter, etc...
I use twitter. My name there is @whydoisay.
Sure, I'm rocking it at @newtongimmick and I usually mention my latest toy reviews on there. Good way to keep up, I reckon.

"Twitter is very much become THE WAY to get up to the minute content of what you dig most. It is THE way to interact with those whose content you enjoy" I agree whit ATOM 100%
Twitter has become, for me THE way to be in touch with the content I enjoy in the web (toys, movies, comics, video games etc.) following pages with this content criteria, in fact I use mi twtr account to try to put my (small number of) followers up to speed with the news of the day.
@krakatoon
nope. i use hear (collectiondx) tfw2005 & seibertron
Nope, not me. I'm currently using Facebook, CDX, ToyboxDX, HLJ, & BBTS.COM to get the toy news I want. I don't use Twitter but I'll get there someday.

For a moment there, I'd actually suspected this as a College Humor skit.
nope, i don't use twitter. i use ngeekhiong blog and several forums for my upcoming hobby needs news. i do have facebook but i consider it a tool for keeping in touch with old and new friends (i actually loathe the tell-people-what-you-do-every-minute update thing that some people do).
@ EVA and yuushafan: can i join the club? i've got aspergers too
