		<title>Darth Vader</title>
		<link>http://www.collectiondx.com/review/2008/darth_vader</link>
		<description>
 Who wouldn’t love a cute and cuddly Dark Lord of the Sith? I know I couldn’t resist him when I saw it on the shelf at my local Wally Word, err … I mean Wal-Mart. Seriously, when I saw that not only was there a cute and cuddly Darth Vader in Hasbro’s Mighty Muggs line but that it had a removable helmet and old Anakin’s face underneath - I had to have it.:

 <label><p>For those not in the know, Mighty Muggs is Hasbro’s stab at the designer vinyl without the price tag and pretension. Their motto is “Made from 100% recycled awesome.” We are still not sure what the awesome originally was before the recycling process but I think with enough journalistic detective work we will get to the bottom of that particular mystery. But solving that mystery is not within the scope of today’s article.</p>
<p><div class ="giImageBlock g2image_centered"><div class="one-image">

</div></p>
<p>Today I am showing you my latest addition to my cuddly “Villains Gallery” that I started with <a href="http://www.collectiondx.com/node/2700">Mola Ram</a>, Darth Vader!</p>
<p><div class ="giImageBlock g2image_centered"><div class="one-image">

</div></p>
<p>He stands about 7 inches tall and is made of soft vinyl. Vader features 3 points of articulation. His head and arms turn, that’s about it. </p>
<p><div class ="giImageBlock g2image_centered"><div class="one-image">

                              <a href="http://www.collectiondx.com/gallery/Toys/Hasbro/MightyMuggs/DarthVader/cuddlydarth02.jpg.html" >

</div></p>
<p>Paint application is pretty good, but in true mass-produced fashion there is a paint smudge on my Vader’s chest plate. It’s not really noticeable on the shelf but in these pictures I think it stands out.</p>
<p><div class ="giImageBlock g2image_centered"><div class="one-image">

                              <a href="http://www.collectiondx.com/gallery/Toys/Hasbro/MightyMuggs/DarthVader/cuddlydarth04.jpg.html" >

<p>But wait that’s not all! His hand is removable!</p>

   </div>
</div></p>
<p>Mighty Muggs’ Darth Vader is just plain awesome. I may have scoffed at the Mighty Muggs concept when we first saw it at Toyfair 08 but I am certainly won over at this point. For $11.99 it’s hard to go wrong.</p>

<p>C-3PO, as we all know, is one of the two droids who have been in every Star Wars movie. This effeminate protocol droid is fluent in over six million forms of communication, meaning if you ever get lost in Mos Eisley he's the droid you want to have with you.</p>

</div></p>
<p>The Mighty Muggs are what they call Platform Figures - identical figures that get different paint applications and accessories. Its Hasbro's attempt to tap into the designer toy aesthetic, and honestly, I think they did OK. I mean, really, what's the difference between this and a Quee?</p>

 <label><p>I first saw the "Mighty Muggs" line in New York during Toyfair 08. I thought it was pretty silly to be honest, then I saw Mola Ram. The absurdity of a cutesy version of the dark, cult leader from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom won me over with his cute human heart accessory. So I vowed to get one when they hit stores.</p>
<p><div class ="giImageBlock g2image_centered"><div class="one-image">

<p>On a recent trip through Wally World, err..... I mean Wal Mart I saw this guy in the Mighty Muggs display on the end cap and had to have him.</p>
<p><div class ="giImageBlock g2image_centered"><div class="one-image">

                              <a href="http://www.collectiondx.com/gallery/Toys/Hasbro/MightyMuggs/MolaRam/molaram02.jpg.html" >

</div></p>
<p>Mighty Muggs is Hasbro's attempt to cash in on the "designer vinyl" trend that has grown in popularity with collectors without the pretentiousness and price tag usually associated with it. </p>
<p><div class ="giImageBlock g2image_centered"><div class="one-image">

    </a>

   </div>
</div></p>
<p>Mighty Muggs's tag line is "Made from 100% recycled awesome." We were tempted to ask during the Hasbro presentation in New York exactly what was the awesome originally before recycling it but we kept that to ourselves.</p>
<p><div class ="giImageBlock g2image_centered"><div class="one-image">

                              <a href="http://www.collectiondx.com/gallery/Toys/Hasbro/MightyMuggs/MolaRam/molaram04.jpg.html" >

   </div>
</div></p>
<p>Mola Ram features a whooping three points of articulation, his two arms and the head rotate. That's it, the heart however is removable and he stands at about 7 inches tall.</p>
<p><div class ="giImageBlock g2image_centered"><div class="one-image">

<p>At 11.99 it was hard to pass this up. The continued smile on my face when ever I see it on the shelf should should be recommendation enough for our readers.
