Sword Attack Voltron

If you haven’t seen the new Voltron show on Netflix, you are really missing out. It’s the best Voltron show in years, maybe better than the original. In honor of this new series, Playmates is releasing a line of toy to mass retail to support the Legendary Defender.

The Sword Attack Voltron is an inexpensive action figure of the titular robot. It’s not a collectors item, it’s a toy made for kids, and a well-made one at that.

Don’t be fooled by the toy in it’s packaging. It’s awkwardly posed and hard to tell how poseable it is.

When you free the toy from it’s multiple twist-tied prison, it’s actually a really great action figure. It’s very poseable, and features a cool action gimmick, which is the slashing arm action.

The slashing arm can be moved into various positions, and the sword rotates at the wrist. Slashing action is activated by squeezing the legs together.

The left arm is much more poseable than the right, with joints at the shoulder, elbow and forearm. The shield can be attached to the arm as well. If you notice why the toy does not have Voltron’s signature wings, it’s because they are being utilized in the shield.

It’s a great little toy. At only ten bucks, it’s a no-brainer.
