Once again Yamato is dazzling us with some roboty goodness. They're continuing the line of 1/12 Votoms Scopedogs, there's more Megazone 23 news, and a Bubble Gum Crisis tidbit. Read on!
Votoms:
The latest edition to the Yamato Votoms line is the upcoming Strong Bacchus from the Uuodo City story arc from the original television series. The Strong Bacchus includes a redesigned head and chest (the sides come in at a curved angle), and is based on the newer Scopedog body with tighter shoulders, ankles, and toe joints (see also Scopedog II and Red Shoulder Scopedog for the upgraded joints)
This image shows a mixture of the Scopedog II (sans the round mover pack that it's packed with) with the clear armor of the Red Shoulder, and the Purple Bear visor which is packed with the Strong Bacchus.
Here is the Scopedog II body again shown in the down form and displayed with the Chirico Cuvie pilot figure (sold separately)
Many people consider Yamato's entry into the Votoms-rich market the ultimate version of the Scopedog. Now with the updated joints it just gets better. Don't believe me? Check out the recently released Red Shoulder, or Scopedog II, or wait roughly a month for the Strong Bacchus.
What's that you say? You already have the original green or purple Melquia version of the Scopedog? Yamato gives people plenty of reason to pick up the newer version with optional clear armor parts for the Red Shoulder, the round mover pack included with the Scopedog II, or the new chest and head with the Strong Bacchus as well as the Purple Bear head option.
Oh, and did I mention the Brutishdog is slated for release in early 2007?
Rumor has it there may also be a Fyanna pilot figure made for the Brutishdog. No word yet if she will be sold separately, or packed with her AT.
Other Yamato News:
The Megazone 23 Garland will receive a repaint, and currently only at rumor level, the Motoslave may be made from the Bubblegum Crisis anime. 80's anime fans rejoice!
