So I had a lot of fun at Anime Boston 2012. While there was some trepidation in the air about whether having PAX East on the same weekend would cut into AB’s numbers, both conventions co-existed without any diminished numbers.

Due to Facebook shenanigans, illustrator (and tall guy) David White invited my snarky butt to co-host a panel about the evolution of giant robots. I also attended various panels run by fellow mecha fans and friends alike in where I provided moral support and books with pictures of robots.

My panel with David went as well as one could except when the room was only big enough to seat a quarter of those lined up outside and some of the slides were out of order. In the end we happily talked our way through an hour of robot pictures (that lacked red because the room’s projector hates Japan) and somewhere in between me talking a bluestreak about stuff people probably learned something.

At the end a young gentleman walked up to me and told me he was a big Macross fan and that he learned a lot of things from me.

Sometimes it gets ya right here ( ;w;)b

Anyways, due the sheer weight of books I was lugging around just so other nerds could see them, my sore shoulders didn’t want to take too many pictures. However I still have a small sampling of the vast cosplay crowd at AB2012.

KAMEN RIDER!

ONE! TWO! V3!

These guys are true Double Riders.

This lady and her friends were huge Brave Series fans. She boasted her collection of Brave merchandise that numbered over 300. Her friends were interested in the Kunio Okawara Brave Series Design Works I was showing around.

I was mistaken in thinking this wasn’t a costume. That’s pretty cool.

A little Electric Wave Human Tackle for Dkun.

Uh, old CRTs are free anti-aliasing…

Energizing the transistors with invisible Jack Daniels.

And yes, every costume I took a picture of is some kind of robot or cyborg :v
