Jazz

I was not as put off by the new movie designs for the Transformers as others, but they definitely took some getting used too. Jazz here for example at first glance looks a bit thick and chunky but after spending some time with it the true beauty of the design comes through, especially when you take the time to pose him right.

He is much more “organic” looking than his 80’s counterpart, but they did keep the visor look and he is still a sports car. If the bio on the back of the card is any indicator he will still be the Jazz we know and love.

Transformation is pretty simple though they list it as a difficulty of 3. I think that is because of the arms as they have a fairly unusual transformation process. Please see the video a full how-to and review.

In car mode, he is a Pontiac Solstice and looks just like one when transformed. The seams are a bit noticeable on the hood but it is not a real problem keeping in mind the price point.

The toy is all plastic but has a nice solid feel and is highly poseable. The fit and finish are decent. The seams show a bit on the hood in car mode but for the low price point it is not a big deal.

Jazz comes with an extendable sword. This attaches to a peg under the top of the arm making it look like his arm becomes a sword/pike.

I really like this toy! I can’t stop picking up off my computer monitor and transforming it back and forth. Despite the fact that it is an inexpensive, plastic toy it is a nice addition to the robot family. I encourage you to give it any of other toys in the line a good long look if you haven’t already.
