Gamma Robo

Gamma Robo is the red robot from Albegas – better known as Voltron II, or “the Voltron nobody wanted”. Gamma is the third letter in the Greek alphabet. You’ll note that the name ALBEGA is an amalgam of Alpha Beta Gamma – the robot is also a combination of the three – an interesting play on words.

This toy is an old-school Gashapon or Capsule Toy. These were sold in vending machines in capsules for about 100 yen. Each capsule held one color robot.

The toy comes disassembled and goes together easily with the included instructions. If you have all three you can combine them into the ALBEGAS robot.

Made out of hard ABS plastic, the toy has crisp details and a good amount of articulation. It also comes with a sword.

In addition to the robots, they also sold capsule toys of the Super Abegas vehicles, which could also transform and combine.
