The Back to the Future trilogy is a comedic science fiction adventure film series written by Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis, directed by Zemeckis, produced by Amblin Entertainment, and distributed by Universal Pictures. The main plot follows the adventures of a high school student Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) and eccentric scientist Dr. Emmett Brown (Christopher Lloyd) as they use a modified DeLorean automobile to time travel to different periods of the history of Hill Valley, California.

The DeLorean Time Machine based on the DeLorean DMC-12 was the cool iconic car that was in all three movies and, while it showed up in the end of Part I, this version is best showcased in Part II. I have seen many companies release the DeLorean Time Machine but this one by Sun Star is superior to the smaller or wholly plastic versions of this car that fly around Ebay. Sun Star’s version is 80% die-cast, highly detailed, and features shifting tires. They also released Part I and Part III versions (I=lighting rod and regular tires, Part III was 50’s white walls). I think this version is the coolest. It comes in the typical windowed box and plastic lock down tray.

The car was a flop in the real world but so cool in the Zemeckis reality

The doors open in the the atypical way and you can even see the console, time shifter, and even the “flux capacitor” in the back.

This car is metal goodness and part of iconic Sci-fi movie lore that inspire collections…well mine, anyway.

They went for around 45 dollars (Part II is most expensive) before shipping and with its size, metal heft, incredible detail, and soul-filling nostalgia, I say buy one. “Or make like a tree and get out of here”
