Caesar Clint-E Desert Corps 666th
I already reviewed the Caesar mold with the RIP002 model but I wanted to add a second review for a weathered unit and show off the double shield configuration and second weapon option. The only thing I won’t have covered for now is the dome-head.
This guy is Clint-E, a 666th Desert Corps Caesar. He is equipped with two shields, a CLAXTON80 heavy machine gun, a pistol, and a harmonic knife.
The paint is everything I’ve come to expect from 3A, cranked up to an even further level of refinement. This is my first Desert Corps unit in 1/6 scale, and the rust and weathering are beautiful.
The design and the 3A aesthetic continue to speak to me. I find myself getting lost in the latest releases, exploring every nook and cranny for detail. 3A may still not have their act together as a business, but their products are made with a love that really shows through on the finished product.
I’ll let the pictures do most of the talking, but everything moves like it is supposed to, and Clint-E looks good using whatever he has at hand to dish out hurt.
*Gush* Look at that rust!
The 3A bots really come to life when posed alongside some squishy humans for scale. I picked up this 666th Desert Corps Grunt recently in anticipation of Clint-E finally arriving. I am glad I did, because they make the perfect pair all loaded for war.
“Suppressing fire!”
Caesars are described as surly and aggressive, and the double shield look really adds to that. I can see Clint charging forward, smart shields moving to deflect incoming figure from all directions.
I reviewed RIP002 pretty quickly after it arrived, and had to wait around another month for Clint-E to show up. 3A rolled out an initial wave of some of the special and clean releases first, and then shipped all of the other weathered scheme figures later when they were ready. Now that they are here, both of my Caesars are worth the wait, but the wait is still something I need to mention for anyone looking at these or future 3A releases. If you like what you see, your only avenue now is the aftermarket, where you’ll pay a little extra, but the figures will come more quickly.
