Spider-Man Techbot
We’ve seen the Techbots from Mega Bloks a few times now. They first saw life as the basis of the Neo Shifters toys, and have since been re-born as mechanized versions of various superheroes such as Iron Man.
Now it’s Spider-Man’s turn from the 2012 Amazing Spider-Man movie.
Mega describes the toy as follows:
“Save the day with the Spider-Man Techbot by Mega Bloks! The buildable and poseable 10-inch Techbot includes 46 buildable pieces and a wrist-mounted web launcher that really fires! Build, play and display!
Techbot pieces are compatible and interchangeable with all other Techbot models; build your custom figure for any situation!
Ideal for children ages 6 and up!
Features:
- Includes 46 buildable pieces that turn into Spider-Man!
- 10-inch fully poseable Techbot with disk launcher that really fires!
- Stand and fight, swing over villains and protect civilians!
- Interchangeable parts - build your own custom Techbot for any situation!”
Unlike the previous releases, this comes in a non-fancy cardboard box.
All the parts come bagged, and assembly is a breeze.
Building is always more fun with a buddy.
The assembled Techbot is really quite cool. It consists of an articulated skeleton (the same as the other releases) with flexible armor parts. All of the armor except for the chest and feet are made out of this hard rubber material.
An arm-mounted cannonball launcher provides the weaponry for Spider-Man.
For me, the real fun was the endoskeleton without the armor. The clear red plastic and robotic head look fantastic.
