Super Change Robot

Each year at Toy Fair I make a run to Chinatown in NYC to hunt down bootleg toys. This year I came across this oversized bootleg of Ironhide from the Transformers Movie series. The card for this thing was enormous, but I dragged it around with me all night. It was the same night as the Mezco party, which we would later go to. I had a few margaritas and made some new friends that night. As I got in the cab to go back to the hotel I realized that I had forgotten my bootleg at the bar the party was at. I called one of my new friends, Blake (who runs http://littleplasticmen.com/) and he graciously agreed to bring it back to Toy Fair the next day. It was thus I was reunited with this giant monstrosity.

On the card, in small print is “Master Robot” and then “Super Change Robot”

Also on the card is an image of what looks like a micromaster jet combiner.

Bootleg Ironhide is actually massive, almost 11 inches tall.

He’s actually well constructed. I had no feat of catching bootleg cancer from this toy as i had from so many others.

Apparently this is a product of the HUNSON TRADING COMPANY, ZHONGSHAN CITY, GUANGDONG CHINA. The internet trail leads to https://www.okktoys.com/ which appears to be their wholesale storefront.

Ironhide actually looks.. good?

He comes with a gun that I am pretty sure is not original eqipment.

Truck mode goes together well but some of the panels don’t quite line up right. It takes some work, but you can get it looking reasonable.

The gun has no place to go on the truck.

Can anyone identify which version of Ironhide this toy is copied from?
