Han Solo

Original MSRP: 19.99

Harrison Ford’s role in the first Star Wars movie was one of the standout performances in the film, cementing the role of Han Solo as one of the most famous in movie history.

Hasbro included Han as he appeared in A New Hope as one of the first releases in the new (at the time) Star Wars Black 6″ line. Basically – Marvel Legends for Star Wars.

The package is.. well.. black. It’s striking, but minimalist.

You can build two versions of Han in this package – as he’s seen escaping from the Death Star, and as he is seen as pilot of the Millennium Falcon. He’s packaged with his Death Star gear on, so that’s what we’ll focus on first.

Han looks great in his trademark vest, with lots of sculpted detail and multiple paint apps. The vest is a separate molded piece, as is the stormtrooper belt he wears.

In this outfit Han is equipped with a E-11 Blaster Rifle which fits nicely in the holster on the belt.

The belt and hands are removable, enabling you to put Han into a more familiar outfit. The belt has the loop around the leg, which needs to be inserted over the foot before attaching at the waist.

Han’s DL-44 Heavy Blaster pistol is included, and fits in the holster at his side.

One thing missing – Han’s headset. Why not include it?

The sculpt of Han’s head is a little big and cartoony, but does a decent job of conveying the likeness of Harrison Ford. Where the figure fails is in the paint and fine details. Note the goofy right eye, incomplete eyebrow, and spots on the neck.

The cheek has paint rub, and the neck a gash in the molding. Most wont notice these unless zoomed in like this, but I notice. It’s about expected for a $20 figure.

Finally, and this is an overall gripe about the 6″ black line – I hate the knees. I hate the whole double joint, and I hate the holes on the sides.

Still, a decent figure for the money. That’s what you have to keep in mind.
