Z'Gok
Last but not least in Assault Kingdom wave 4 is the Z’Gok! Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise: the Z’Gok is the best aquatic mobile suit. Both cute and deadly, the Z’Gok is ready to stab any mobile suit in the gut while also shooting torpedoes out of its not-head.
Both the Re-Gz and the Gouf Custom are slightly the wrong color, but that blue on the Z’Gok is just perfect. I’m willing to accept the two other as looking off because this Z’Gok is perfect in periwinkle and navy blue.
Because of the simplicity in the Z’Gok’s designs, all of the sculpted details are spot on.
In a series full of blocky mobile suits, the Z’Gok’s organic curves and almost huggable shape are a welcome change.
Even though the Z’Gok doesn’t have a head, they still managed to sneak in an additional joint in order to make up for it. If you look at the back side of the Z’Gok, you’ll notice a little switch. You can turn this to move the Z’Gok’s monoeye around!
With this, the Z’Gok is ready to look left and right like a true winner.
The Z’Gok’s leg designs made it incredibly easy to hide a swivel joint and leaves this as one of the cleanest looking figures in the line.
Like the Gouf, there is an extra pull-down joint on the swinging ankles that allow for a great range of motion.
With all of this articulation, the Z’Gok is ready to do a fancy jig on your desk at all times.
The Z’Gok comes with only an alternate pair of claws which are open.
They’re delightfully expressive for both action poses and just being adorably silly.
Out of all of the figures of this wave, the Z’Gok was by far the one that I was the most excited for. I can happily report that after having it in hand, I am not disappointed at all. I hope we get more Z’Goks in the future because you don’t need to have a head to be streets ahead of everyone else.
