Getter Robo Toujou-hen
Recently, Takara Tomy made this set of gashapon figures of the original appearances of all three of Getter Robo’s modes. Not only are they fun little toys, they each have a special feature!
Some assembly is required upon pulling them out of the capsule, but despite their small stature each figure looks spot-on.
Let’s start with my oft-neglected favorite, Getter-3. All these figures are pretty static, only Getter-3’s arms can be moved.
As mentioned before, each Getter has a special gimmick, they’re all different helpful desk accessories! Getter-3 holds your business cards.
Getter-2’s only real point of articulation is its claw, which can spin 360 degrees. He also comes with a small rubber piece to help him stand but he really doesn’t need it.
Getter-2’s gimmick is that he can hold your writing utensil of choice.
Getter-1 sports no articulation, but his cape is removable and he comes with a Getter Tomahawk that can be held in either hand.
And if you take off the tomahawk completely, you can wrap your cords around him.
Not only are these charming and interesting representations of classic robots, they’re also absolutely the cheapest Getter Robo merchandise I’ve ever seen, and I’d happily recommend them if you can find a set.
