Slash

Original MSRP: 9.99

I haven’t really gotten any of the $10 “Legends” price point figures since Combiner Wars, I just simply haven’t had the money for them, but when I saw that the Dinobots were getting a new member who was a small, cute little velociraptor, I knew I had to get her! Even if she shares the same name of Transformers the Last Knight Slash.

In Dino mode, Slash is a really clean looking velociraptor. For being a completely new character, her design fits perfectly in line with her fellow Dinobots, as she is basically like a G1 design with some more molded detail. The actual construction of the Dino mode is really solid, and her articulation is pretty good considering her diminutive stature. Not only can her velociraptor mouth open, but also a panel on her back can open up to accompany a titan master or prime master!

Slash’s transformation is pretty simple as you would expect but still really effective and fun. The entire underside of the Velociraptor folds out and becomes her legs, while the Velociraptor legs become her arms. Finally, the panel on her back mentioned earlier opens up, allowing for the entire Dino head and arms to fold back inside of her robot mode body.

In robot mode, Slash is just perfect. Really uniquely designed and proportioned, there’s just really nothing I don’t like about her design. Not only that, but her actual amount of paint and color scheme is really dynamic and cool looking. Slash’s articulation is similarly good, as despite her size she can pull off the same poses as a deluxe figure, and definitely better than the last Slash figure I reviewed!

In terms of accessories Slash has none to speak of, but what she does have is the ability to wield the Last Knight Slash’s dual blades better than he can! Can you tell I still don’t like that Slash figure?

As far as size is concerned, Slash is very tiny, so much so I think she’s probably worth more like $8 rather than $10, but she still looks right at home with her fellow Dinobots!

Overall, I think Transformers Generations Power of the Primes Dinobot Slash is a great figure. Not only is her design a unique reinvention of the classic G1 Dinobots, but she is also just a very solidly constructed, well detailed, well articulated, and fun to transform figure that will be a great addition to your team of Power of the Primes Dinobots, your female Transformers, and your collection as a whole.
