Nickick

The System Mecha Series only had two entries – #1 was the Orgroid, #2 the Nikick. I believe there is also a box set with both sets together. It’s an ugly, weird toy and it stands in stark contrast to the real robot aesthetic that they have going with their perfect transformation toys.

The box is pure Takatoku love. Great art and texture all around.

The gimmick for this toy is the removable armor. There’s a somewhat articulated internal frame, and the armor parts pop onto that frame. It looks fine, but I don’t love it. It just looks off. One interesting fact is that both the Orgroid and Nikick use the same internal skeleton, just colored differently.

As you can see, most of the parts just peg into the frame. The frame is metal.

A gun is included, but there’s no hole in the hands to hold it, so it pegs on the side.

The frame is lanky and weird-looking. Nobody likes it. He sits alone at the lunch table.
