Gard Machine

I watched Danguard Ace on Force Five as a kid, but for the life of me I don’t remember the Gard Machine. It was so long ago, it might not even look like this. Popy took a lot of liberties to make designs more toy-like.

This is the Third PB series release in the Popynica line. Popynica was the Chogokin line reserved for vehicles opposed to just robots in the main Chogokin line.

Like other Popynica, the box has the traditional silver border with a prototype shot for the artwork. The finished toy looks much different.

The Gard Machine is a cool-looking vehicle. The body is almost entirely diecast, with real rubber tires and translucent blue plastic windows.

The yellow button on the front launches missiles. The entire chrome section on the front tilts up to reveal the launcher.

The windows open up gull-wing style to show the driver inside.

The whole canopy lifts up and back to reveal all the cool cockpit detail inside.

Pressing the yellow button in the cockpit pops the front wheel covers out. I have no idea what purpose this serves.

Another one that was super cool, but could not stay in the collection, so off to a better home he went.
