Suletta Mercury
Suletta Mercury is the main character from the series Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury. She’s adorable. I was a big fan of the series, so I thought I would pick up a kit of her to display with the Gundam Aerial.
This is a Figure-rise Standard model kit, which is sort of a Gunpla for figures. It’s like a DIY SHFigurarts, and the end result is very toy-like.
I’m not going to cover the build, but like most modern Bandai kits, everything is molded in color. Stickers are included, and one face plate has the face details pre-printed on. Also included is a small Haro, and a display stand. The completed figure is basically 1/12 (6″) tall.
This is the default printed face plate. There are two other face plates that you have to assemble and apply decals to.
The ponytail is on a ball joint.
The shiny gold decals are thick metallic stickers on a clear base. They add a nice pop to the uniform. I’ve never had stickers like this on a kit before. Applying them to the collar was a bit difficult, but I got it done.
There are several sets of hands that can be swapped out. The ball joint at the wrist tends to come apart when swapping hands, but it pops right back together.
She doesn’t come with a sword, but if you have one lying around, she comes with weapon-holding hands.
There’s even a set of hands designed to hold the Haro unit. Haro has flaps that open and close.
The idea behind the variant face plates is that you can use the included sticker sheets to make your own expressions. The first two are with stickers, the last is the default pre-printed face.
The included stand is very basic. There is a hole in her back if you want to attach it directly, or you can use the clamp attachment.
For the following pictures, I used one of the Tamashii stands designed for mecha, and I was able to mount both Gundam Aerial and Suletta on the same stand! I think it looks great.
