This is a Domo-Kun toy that is different from a lot of other Domo toys flooding the market right now.
I bought this guy at the NHK studio store just outside of Harajuku Japan in 2003. That’s 5 years ago, before the big Domo boom in the US. There I was, thinking I was all ahead of the game…
You will notice that the fur on this Dmo is rougher than the newer Domo toys. This Domo is more accurate to the actual NHK spots that he originally appeared in.
The plush filling on this one is also firmer than the newer releases. This Domo can stand on his own.
I carried this guy back from Tokyo with me and gave him to a friend, who left him here after a short stay with us. I thought, Domo, it is time for your moment in the spotlight.
