Macross and its fandom has continued to thrive all over this great United States, with the premier homegrown convention bringing the deculture to sunny California once again. This year, I was determined to get my Valkyrie-loving keister on jet plane and fly out to the west coast to finally experience this highly praised event first hand. As I entered the doors of the Torrance Cultural Arts Center for my first Macross World Con, I was surrounded by friends and fellow fans all brimming with love and passion for this classic anime series.
Arranged along the left side of the Ken Miller auditorium were dozens of Macross merchandise displays with goods grouped into various themes. First up was an impressive spread of music CDs!
Anime Boston is always a wonderful experience for me and 2016 was no different.
Machination Studio’s Codename: Colossus 3D printed mecha toy is the single coolest thing I saw at NYCC 2015!
As my day at NYCC was winding down, I was thinking that I had seen all of the cool new stuff I was going to see. I was working my way through some of the less crowded middle aisles of the convention center when I spotted something at a small booth. It was large and awkward, with a highly detailed model kit finish. I had to stop and learn more.
Hey CDXers, Prometheum5 here with some coverage of my time at New York Comic Con 2015! Today’s pics are from the Mezco, Diamond Previews, and Diamond Select Toys booths. There was some great stuff, including Judge Dredd, Toho kaiju, and giant robots!

Hey CDXers, Prometheum5 here with some coverage of my time at New York Comic Con 2015! Next up are a couple cool displays: Nsurgo, 1000Toys, Union Creative, and Sentinel Co. Ltd Toys!
Nsurgo is a licensing and distribution shop for Japanese imports, and this year they had some really great stuff on display. In one case they had a whole lineup of all the 1000Toys Toa Heavy Indsutries Synthetic Human releases to date. I have just about all of them, but it still kills me to see that SDCC Test Type Body in the case. My first stop of the day was to get the NYCC Close Combat Body exclusive, with the white hoodie. Also on display was a teaser bust of 1000Toys’ new 1/6 scale Jomon Kuguto figure, designed by artist Takeya Takayuki. Apparently a sample of 1000Toys’ other new toy, the IZMOJUKI mecha, was supposed to be on display, but it sounds like the sample was damaged before the show.
Hey CDXers, Prometheum5 here with some coverage of my time at New York Comic Con 2015! I made my yearly trek down to the Javits Center for my nerd pilgrimage and figured I would share some photos that I took along the way. This is by no means in-depth, up to the minute coverage, but I thought it would be fun to give readers an idea of the kinds of cool stuff I saw.
First up are two booths near and dear to CDX’s heart: Bandai’s Gundam display and Bandai of America’s Power Rangers display.
