Hot Toys The Joker (Mime Version) from Batman (1989)

Hot Toys is getting the most of their Batman (1989) license with a new variation on Jack Nicholson's Joker! This time he's dressed up as that mouthy mime who threatened Gotham the same way the press does. As another 1/6th scale figure in the Movie Masterpiece series, The Joker's head sculpt is eerily lifelike and is enhanced by the use of their patented Parallel Eyeball Rolling System (PERS) system that allows both eyes to look around in perfect synch. The Joker comes with a stage that looks like the steps of Gotham's government building, three pens that are mightier than the sword, six pairs of optional hands, and a dapper top hat. No details on price yet but the figure is schedule for fourth quarter this year.

Another fine example of Hot

Another fine example of Hot Toys milking their products to their customers. Was it really so hard to throw in an extra costume, head, hands and accessories with the first edition? I'm sure it won't be long before we get a Museum outfit joker and/or the gangster outfit from before he fell in the tank of acid.

y'know, comparing even the

y'know, comparing even the first release of the Nicholson Joker to the Dark Knight Joker sets... the Dark Knight Joker with the interrogation room table & chair barely cost any more than the Nicholson version, and the Dark Knight Joker with the police disguise, extra head and rifle cost substantially LESS. And the bank robber set, without too much extra stuff, was a great deal by comparison.

I think there's gotta be something else behind the scenes bumping up the price of these figures. They're both Warner Brothers, of course, so the licensing arrangement should be mostly the same... Maybe it's Nicholson himself, demanding a premium for the use of his likeness?
