Oulous Repair Shop is proud to present MAD*L show 2K5. Fifty artists from the world at large will add their own touch to 20-inch blank MAD*L vinyl figures designed by renowned artist MAD.
Continuing the tradition of Urban Vinyl popularized by Hong Kong artist Michael Lau the army of 50 MAD*L individually painted and sculpted vinyl figures will be displayed as modified molded toy art.
A selection of the artists includes Tim Biskup, Frank Kozik, graffiti artist SEEN from NYC, Tim Tsui from China, TADO from England, Kozy and Dan, MAD – creator of the MAD*L, and MiQ WillmOtt head designer for Hot Wheels. For a complete list of the artists please visit www.oulous.com.
In addition to the exhibit Munky King and Oulous Repair Shop will host a night of music by I & I mobile sound systems, dim sum, beverages, whiskey, powdered donuts, and a 300 pound block of ice carved into a giant MAD*L by Reverend Butter of the aerosol warfare gallery in Houston.
The show is curated by Richard VanOver of Wheaty Wheat studios (WWS). WWS is an independent toy art prototype manufacturer, plying their trade in the thick of the Urban Vinyl jungle.
MAD*L opens April 9th at 12PM for a preview and 6PM to 10PM for events. The show closes May 7th.
MAD*L Show: 2K5 is sponsored in part by Munky King, Urb, Clutter, Vapors, and TM magazine.
