Aside from their Avatar and DC Super Hero offerings, Mattel had a few other toy lines of interest on display.
Cars
Mattel continues with toys from the hit Disney / Pixar movie Cars. Most of the readers who visit this site won't be too interested in most of the product on display, but one thing I saw that I dug was a prototype of a new Mack playset. Mack is the semi-trailer that pulls Lightning McQueen from race to race. This toy has a trailer that opens and separates into three different action scenes. My son is 4 and he will go mental over this.
Cartoon Network
Mattel has the license to produce toys from several of Cartoon Network's most popular shows such as Ed, Edd and Eddy, Foster's home for Imaginary Friends and the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. Some standout items include a remote control Blue from Fosters and a small rubber Billy figure with squeezable snot.
Naruto
Nartuo continues to be a strong brand for Mattel. This year they had a nice assortment of action figures, but the focus really seemed to be on Role-play items that can double for cosplay accessories. Headbands, daggers, flying weapons, swords - you name it.
Ratatouille
Ratatouille is an upcoming Disney / Pixar movie, and of course, there will be toys for it. There will be the standard plush toys and action figures, but they had a cool animatronic rat that had a large range of motion. One of the female figurines, Colette, Was kind of cute.
Funkeys
Funkeys seems to be Mattel's attempt at combining several different fads together in one neat package. Funkeys is kind of hard to explain, but take an Urban Vinyl influenced toy, add computer chips to them, and then enable them to talk to your computer. Collecting different Funkeys will unlock different worlds on your machine, and your friends can visit places you have made and customized. It's an interesting idea. Some of the designs are really great.
Modifighters
Modifighters are Hot Wheels branded transforming robots. They are kind of simple looking and are aimed at the younger crowd. They come in two types. The first auto-transforming and then they also have color change versions.
Planet Heroes
Planet Heroes are basically Rescue Heroes for outer space. While the toys are for a much younger demographic, I urge you to at least check out the figure with the liquid head.
