While most manufactures are backing away from larger, high ticket items; Hasbro is embracing the concept here. If you saw the movie Cloverfield you either loved or or hated it. For those that loved it Hasbro has the toy for you.
In an unusual move the toy is only available thru the www.hasbrotoyshop.com site and not in retail stores.

The monster is supposed to come in special movie packaging but there was no display at the showroom of what it would look like and unfortunately the diorama is not included. The press release says:

After seeing this in person I would agree the detail is very life like. It was under a plexi display so there was no handling it (there usually isn't.) so we will have to wait and see.
The tail looks like it has no articulation, where the hands, arms, legs and feet seemed to be where all the articulation was at.
Did I mention it's HUGE.
It's stuff like this that makes me wish I had more expendable income than I do. If I had the cash and the space I'd drop it on this. Hasbro has a good track record of making a good quality-controlled product. This Cloverfield monster could become toy legend, think about getting it if you got the cash.
