Dark Horse's display seemed to be a bit on the small size (a theme at most retailers this year at Toyfair09) what they had to offer was a nice selection of classic and new comic and pulp products.
First up was Umbrella Academy. A runaway hit for Dark Horse Comics and to satisfy the demands of fans they are releasing a set of figures of the main characters from the series. They will be offering the figures as a set, as well as just the Violin character packed with the first graphic novel of the series. Fan's will most likely want to just hold out for the set as not only do you get all of the characters in a set there packed in a circle facing out under an Umbrella. Very cleaver looking actually. Due in May.
Tim Burton created an original line of characters called Tragic Toys For Boys and Girls and PVC figures have been made of them.
Available in box sets as well as individually...
Stain Boy
Oyster Boy
Toxic Boy
Dark Horse being a comic company does do a lot of stationary products with their characters and licenses. So of course they would take the opportunity to do cards, mugs and stationary with Tim Burton's original artwork.
I thought the notebooks with real light up stars where particularly neat myself.
Bruce Campbell fans rejoice! You're getting a 12' inch pose able figure based on his latest movie "My Name is Bruce".
Note the little angel and devil as well as Bruce Campbell action figure accessories.
The Spirit the movie didn't do as well as Dark Horse (but it is a really good flick actually) had hoped but they are still going ahead with this stunning statue of the film version of this classic character. Love the Chuck Taylor's.
Also expected are a mini bust and notebooks featuring Frank Miller's original artwork.
A PVC set of classic Wil Eisner designed Spirit characters.
Dilbert PVC sets where shown.
The Godfather license appears to be out in the wild now as every statue maker I can think of appears to be doing a Marlon Brando statue or bust. Dark Horse was no exception.
Sheena, Queen of the Jungle was on display...
as was another classic Pulp character, Doc Savage.
Tara McPherson has a new art book in the works as well as some stationary product.
Classic Comic Statues continues to do well for Dark Horse. upcoming releases feature Disney characters and Simsons.
Dark Horse has been putting out Betty page product for some time and this time around they are offering coffee mugs. One has a vanishing top when a hot liquid is pored into it the other is family safe. Naughty, naughty.
And last but not least is Domo. Domo continues to be wildly popular here in the states, in addition to the usual range of plush versions of the character they will be releasing Blind-boxed mini figures in a wild array of colors. Only 1 glow version per three cases. :(
