I'll admit it as a car guy. I really wasn't digging the Defiants line of battery operated vehicles. I thought they were a bit of the ol' brown stuff, but the demonstration they had set up for the fair fascinated me to say the least. They took what was essentially a boring idea- a small battery operated monster truck that is crazy slow, and made it worlds cooler by making a crazy track for it to go insane on. The cars themselves have two speeds, high or low. Most kids will stick to high. You place them on a track and they are surprisingly powerful. Not in the speed sense, but more in the sense that they are geared for brute power. Even still, they fly off a piece of track and bounce on a mini-trampoline, do a flip, land on the other side of the track and the tires spin to regain traction and they climb right back up to do the whole craziness over again. I guess on their own they are cool because they seem to just go over any terrain. Here's the insanity we got to see.
This looks like my garage back in my drifting days. Tires everywhere. Sigh.
This is the trampoline section. A bit hard to photograph, but you get the idea.
This guy was jumping them like no ones business.
