I'll admit, I knew nothing about QMX before coming across their booth at toy fair, so I felt like a fool when one of their guys knew us and was a big fan of CollectionDX. We had a nice chat about Space Battleship Yamato before getting on to the business of talking about THEIR toys.
They have this cool idea for a line called Q-pop which features SD-style figures with a small whiteboard speech bubble that you can leave various messages on. I love this idea. Licenses include Star Trek, DC Comics, and Big Bang Theory.
What really blew my mind was the 12 inch 1:250 scale replica Serenity ship from firefly. This thing was amazing, with opening hatches that revealed the ships interior. This will be limited to 2,000 pieces and will ship Q4 2014. I wish I had taken more pictures of this.
The Malcom Reynolds Statue was cool too, but not really my thing. Still, legions of Browncoats will love it. This 1:6 scale statue will be limited to 1,000 pcs as well.
Finally, if you ever wanted to have the empire in your pocket (or the rebellion for that matter), QMX is offering die-cast keychains of some of the most iconic ships from Star Wars. On display were a Star Destroyer, Millennium Falcon, and Slave 1.
