Crab Soup

For part one of Sushi-go-round, go here.

Part two of Petit Sushi-go-round is named “Wonderful! Whole Grab Soup Set!” (Goka! Marugoto kanijiru setto) or simply Crab Soup. The crab soup seems a bit more luxurious than the previous set and also includes two pieces of nigiri sushi and hot water dispenser.

Starting out we have the cutouts to make two table tent ads and a menu insert for the touch screen display.

The centerpiece of the set is the whole crab soup which comes in 3 pieces. The snow crab is cute and kind of looks like it’s smiling, making it a lot more morbid. The soup part of the set is actually pretty plain looking and I wish they added some more texture or ingredients to make it identifiable as soup. The crab soup seems kind of difficult to eat having to juggle between drinking soup and peeling a giant grab.

Next up is a staple of most conveyor belt sushi restaurants; a hot water dispenser. Tea bags are typically available in containers on the table so customers can make their own tea.

The tsubugai nigiri is also known as whelk, a type of conch that comes on a plate with chopsticks you will never separate evenly.

Crab soup is another fun little Petit Sample set that feels a little out of place when one thinks of a typical conveyor belt sushi restaurant. The snow crab does make a good accessory for silly figure photography though. My only minor complaint is that the soup piece is pretty bland looking but it’s not a huge deal for something so cheap.
