A-Ko Robot

Project A-Ko was one of the first anime that I knew as “ANIME”. Of course I grew up on things like Robotech, Starblazers and Battle of the Planets, but it wasn’t until a local comic book store started selling VHS rips of laserdiscs that I discovered proper Anime. Project A-Ko was one of those anime, and I was forever hooked, despite having no subtitles and no idea what it was about.

This was all pre-internet, and before the fad of anime action figures came around, so there was virtually no merchandise available from the show, aside from doujunshi and garage kits. But one toy was in fact made from Proect A-Ko, and it was this, the A-Ko Robot. This robot comes from Project A-Ko Final, the fourth and last film in the franchise. It was sold exclusively with the soundtrack to the movie.

The figure is about 5 inches tall and made out of Soft Vinyl. Articulation is at the head, shoulders, waist and legs.

Maybe the first super robot to have knee-high socks?
