Alien

Apparently Alien Day is a thing now, because that’s the world we live in. I can’t wait for Goonies day 2020. Anyway, to celebrate “Alien Day”, which occurs on April 26, Super7 put out some variant ReAction figures. Two were released – this one, and one with Kane in his red spacesuit. Both have new cardbacks that resemble concept art for Alien movie posters by Bill Gold.

The card art is striking, for sure, but the real reason is the Blue Glitter. I love the glitter like nobody’s business. I used it when I did my own Kaiju Big Battel vinyl Vegetius years ago.

I got it on clearance because the card was damaged. I’m not paying $20 for a ReAction figure, are you nuts? Unless it’s a license I am super jazzed about that is. Ok maybe I am nuts.

Lets get to the figure though. It is SEXXY.

Like all ReAction figures, this one stands about 4″ tall and has 5 points of articulation (6 if you count the tail). Super7 has made so many versions of this mold now, they definitely have gotten their money’s worth.

One of the flaws of this mold is the clear dome over the head. It just rests on top and will come off with the slightest bump. It comes packaged with a clear elastic that I suggest you keep. I don’t think Super7 expects anyone to take these off the card, and I can’t blame them, carded they are beautiful works of art. But this one was begging to be freed.

I may just have to track down the other one. I have a bag of Alien ReAction just sitting waiting to be displayed, but I need to find a place soon, lest I be infected with Aliens!
