Aquaman
I’m going to start by saying that 1. I am not a big DC comics fan and 2. I was never a He-Man fan. So logically, the combination of the two is something that I should not like. But Funko has pulled off an interesting re-imagining of the DC universe with their Primal Age line, and it’s done so well that you can’t help but like it, even just a little. Sure, some characters are more successful than others, but when you get them all together, and throw in a playset and battle animals, the whole thing is an 80s kid’s dream come true.
You can get the entire DC Primal Age line at Amazon.com
Each Primal Age figure comes on a blister card that is not unique to the figure, and is not resealable, so better off just opening them!
Aquaman is a sturdy figure, with amazing detail. Check out the texture of the sash. Is that supposed to be netting? It’s awesome. The squid on the shoulder is also a nice touch.
They do a nice job of working in the classic Aquaman colors and textures. Each of these interpretations is nods to the classic versions of the characters.
Aquaman includes his trident but does not grab onto it well. It’s loose in his hand.
This is one of the better figures in this line, despite only having one accessory. The sculpt and quality on this figure is brilliant. Thanks again to Funko for the review sample.
