AV-98 Ingram 1
The Revoltech AV-98 Ingram 1 comes from the anime series Mobile Police Patlabor (機動警察パトレイバー, Kidō keisatsu patoreibā) a manga franchise created by Masami Yūki. The term Patlabor is a mash-up of Patrol and Labor.
The Ingram 1, nicknamed “Alphonse” is piloted by the tenacious Noa Izumi. Noa is the top Labor pilot of Section 2, Division 2. Noa named her labor “Alphonse” after a dog and a cat she had when she was growing up.
In the TV series, Noa loves Alphonse as if it were a living being. She polishes it and pays attention to every detail, getting upset at even the smallest scratch. In combat, Noa and Aphonse act as one – She has the machine tuned perfectly. As newer models are introduced, Noa and her faithful Unit 1 continue to outperform the competition. But as Aphonse begins to age, she must make a decision. Must she let this Alphonse go, just like all the others?
It was this figure that made me finally watch the Patlabor TV series and it was well worth it. You really begin to feel for the characters and their relationships. The Revoltech AV-98 Ingram 1 captures the feel of the machine perfectly. The detail is fantastic.
The Ingram 1 is of the usual Revoltech quality. It features 9 Revoltech joints, including a dual-jointed neck. There are a large amount of monoshaft joints on this figure, but they are actually pretty sturdy, and look fine.
Included with the toy are:
- 4 Variant hands
- 1 Gun holding hand (the gun is molded into the hand)
- Anti-Labor Stun Stick (long)
- Anti-Labor Stun Stick (short)
- Stand
The Unit 1 figure is almost identical to the Unit 2 figure, with some minor differences:
- Unit 1 & 2 have different heads
- Unit 2 comes with a shotgun (unit 1 does not)
- Unit 1 & 2 have different paint markings for numbering
