Battle Changer DX

There are 3 sets needed to make Battle Robo in the Battle Changer DX (バトルチェンジャーDX) line. Each set comes with one component to make the robot, and one pull-back car.

Set 1 Battle Harrier

Set 2 Battle X

Set 3 Battle Mirage

Battle Robo is a re-mold of Jam’s Jumbo Skyhawk reviewed here. The Porsche Fighter vehicle is a remold of the red Porsche that came with the Wrist Robo set by Mark. These cheap toy companies loved to re-use and re-package not only their own toys, but older toys from other companies that they acquired the molds from.

The box is super colorful. It has the extra hanging tab that can be stored inside the box.

Battle X forms the torso of the robot. It has no individual robot form, so just look at the shiny ship.

Porshe Fighter / Porshe robo is a little pull-back car with some ill-fitting stickers. The toy is molded all in white with rubber tires.

Robot mode is super dorky. He doesn’t like to stand so be sure to pull the legs all the way down, and peg the windshield into the hole in the torso.

As I mentioned, it’s the same car that came with the Porsche Wrist Robo set by Mark from 1984. While I don’t have a date for this release, I bet its about 10 years later, sometime in the mid 90s. As you can see it’s basically the same toy, without chrome details.
