Battle Damage Robocop

Courtesy of Hiya Toys, here we have Battle Damaged Robocop from the movie, Robocop 2.

Though not perfect, I enjoyed their Aquaman figure from Injustice 2. So, I was looking forward to this.

Packaging is a little different this time. There’s the bubble card with the figure & accessories, which comes inside a box with a big, clear window. Maybe the card is an homage to the classic Robocop toys, which have a similar style. Or maybe this is aping Super7’s ReAction packaging.

Bubble cards always look cool, but then you have the dilemma of actually opening them. A dilemma for people who keep the packaging like me. Or maybe motivation to buy multiples, because what’s another $20?

At the core, this is the same Robocop Hiya has been making and JoshB reviewed a ways back. But this version has the battle damage picked up at the end of Robocop 2.

So Murphy here has some gnarly burn marks on his head courtesy of an arc-welder…

…and some big dents in his chest from a shoulder cannon.

Otherwise, he’s a clean, wholesome figure. Complete with that funky colorful sheen like a CD or spilt oil. He has great articulation for his size and can mimic any pose from the movies. This would be plenty of detail at 6-inch scale, so at 3.75, he’s even more impressive.

For accessories, he has the most important accessory for Robocop, the Auto 9 handgun.

A display stand that looks like sidewalk from Old Detroit with connector pieces, and alternate hands. Thankfully, these aren’t hard to switch.

And Robocop 2’s brain case. These are all the same as what comes with the standard figure, but they work, so that’s fine.

Hiya Toys makes a good little Robocop. And the battle damage makes him feel special. I wanted something better than their Aquaman, and he is. For $20, he’s worth checking out if you’re curious. There are Robocop toys from Neca (iffy) and MAFEX (expensive), but this little guy is a safe bet.
