This set of blind-boxed trading figures replicates the classic ships down to the smallest details.
Included in this set are:

  • Battle Shark (Battle Fever J)
  • Denzi Tiger (Denziman)
  • Bio Dragon (Bioman)
  • Jaguar Vulcan (Sunvulcan)

The set ships in a case of four – if you get a case you are guaranteed to get all four units, plus photo card backdrops. The shipping case also turns into a counter-top display stand, but I imagine most of these are just being sold as sets as mine was, which I got from HobbyLink Japan.

Lets start with Battle Shark from Battle Fever J.

At only a few inches long it’s a pretty faithful representation. Out of the box, some parts need to be removed from the sprue and applied. These include the yellow fins, the red “wings”, and the tower. If you have sausage fingers like I do, use tweezers.

The wings on the side can fold down.

Paint and detail are great for something of this size. Some of the printing on it is absolutely microscopic. The added weathering detail gives it a nice sense of realism.

Like in the show, the Battle Shark splits apart to reveal the first Super Sentai robot, Battle Fever J.

Battle Fever J is a fixed pose figure with interchangeable arms. He can be displayed with simple arms (for stowing away in Battle Shark), his sword extended while holding the sheath, and a arm holding a shield. It’s actually suprising how many accessories this tiny guy came with. At only an inch or so tall, he’s the smallest BFJ I have ever seen.

These are a really cool idea and I hope they continue the line with more ships as there are plenty to choose from.

The scenery cards are included if you buy a case, and you can mix and match them with any set.
