Rocky Robot

Review by NekroDave
Of the four toys that constitute the "Rocky Robot" series from Ceppi Ratti, this is the second one I've been able to acquire and it is my favorite thus far. Despite the fact that it shares the exact same body and limbs, it seems strikingly different from the previous version due to not only having a much different head, but also a much brighter color scheme. Here are the two side by side.

When I first saw this toy, it was jokingly referred to as having a "watering can" head, but in fact I believe it to be based on the character of Baratak. Still, the sculpt is pretty silly, but certainly stands out.

Another minor difference between the two toys is that this one here comes with an ax for a weapon rather than a sword. In fact, with this toy I was lucky enough to get it in a box and it turns out that two of the robots in the series have the ax while the other two have the sword. Here are some pictures of the box that I was unable to show last time around.

I love these terrible little drawings of the robots on the sides of the box! Are there traces of Gundam on the other two? Could be, could be...
And as I suspected, the end of the box shows each character with a box to check to indicate which toy is inside.

Well, not much more to add. Just know that this exists and bask in its glory. You know you love it.

9 comments postedI confirm that the robot is Balatack with a Robo Kress axe. You can also see the Danguard A insignia on the chest and shoulder stickers. Even the missile colour scheme is different! Thanks for sharing. I never knew this bastard existed.
Damn, never seen either of these two before. Your finds never cease to amaze!
Woooooooooooooooooow
Thanks for your review Dave!
The Combattler is the boot to get in this set! I have NEVER run across one yet.
Grandzinga....
My friend has one but it's the only one I've ever seen and of course I don't have one yet either. Really want it though.

This thing is a party in a box! I love everything about it, ESPECIALLY the head.
Glorious cheapo kwazy kwakers is this thing.
Can you ACTUALLY launch the missles from this toy? I thought they always tried to engineer frustration into these things.
Glad I finally got (one) SpaceHero toy to say I'm in this club....sorta, haha!
Wish we'd taken some good shots of the slight variations in similar box arts.
Good pics and review as usual.
You're right, Jon. Why I didn't think to bring my Space Hero to the Summit to compare side by side, I'll never know. Next time!

It's great to come back and look at this. I hope I get to go a summit where you could show one of these off.
