Ceed Commander

While branded by cheapo manufacturer “The Access”, this is actually Ceed Commander by HERO, another cheap toy manufacturer. Apparently there’s no rhyme or reason to what company puts out what in the realm of cheap Japanese toys.

I actually found this guy in a small comic store in North Carolina of all places. I wonder how long it had been there waiting for me?

Anyway, the box is awesome. Loud, bright colors with lots of text all over.

This is another Access toy with the hidden tag for hanging the toy on the peg.

Box art = amazing.

Sadly, the tray is thin plastic and not styro.

I don’t think there are any official modes for these because I have seen them transformed different ways on different sites. I’ve tried to replicate what I see on the box the best I can. The essentials are that they are a red race car and a blue cycle, both transform into three modes, and then combine in several ways. The toy is all plastic.

This is what I assume to be the basic combined form, but it is one of the many methods of combining the two. It stands about 5 inches tall in total, and is limited to articulation in the arms.

Two small silver guns can be held in either arm, or one large cannon.

You can also reverse the cycle to make a variation on the combination.

The red car is called “Ceed Laser”. The original version had stickers on the legs with the name on it, this one just has patterns.

Why yes, it is a parts-former, and yes it is dorky.

The blue cycle is called “Ceed Attaker” It doesn’t really stand on its own in vehicle mode.

Hard to imagine a dorkier mode than Ceed Laser, but here you go. This robot mode uses some of the extra parts, but after I shot the images I found out that there is a robot mode for this without the extra parts.

It’s an obscure set, but it’s fun to play with all the modes and combinations. What it lacks in visual coherence it makes up for with play value.
