Ronin Boba Fett is the third entry into the Star Wars Movie Realization toy line and is by far, my favorite yet. The Movie Realization line takes characters from the Star Wars universe and re-imagines them with a feudal Japanese theme. Boba Fett’s ronin samurai treatment is based on his Return of the Jedi armor.

A ronin is a wandering samurai with no lord or master, a fitting title for the Fett.

Ronin Fett comes packed in the same style of box as the rest of the Movie Realization line. It has a two part outter box with inner clam shell and “A long time ago” inscription inside.

All of the movie realization boxes have character artwork printed on the side. So, if your the type of person that likes to incorporate the box into your display, all of the movie realization boxes will look very nice lined up together.

The paint, sculpt, and attention detail are all top notch. Details abound and paint applications are as close to perfect as you can get.

Even the back of the figure sports a high level of detail with the backpack being painted to simulate heat blueing.

Fett stands roughly 7 inches tall and scales well with the rest of the Movie Realization line.

Ronin Fett shares much of the same articulation as the Ashigaru trooper. His somewhat bulky armor restricts his movement less than you would think, and dynamic poses are very easy to get. His shoulder pads are on a sliding joint just like the Ahigaru trooper and his targeting eye piece can be lowered and raised.

My only complaint about his articulation is the same complain I had with the trooper. The ankle joints connect to the foot at such an angle that makes getting a left and right pivot a chore. It’s still possible to tilt the ankles left and right, it’s just a pain getting them there. The wide range of movement in Boba’s shoulders, elbows, and wrists mean that he can easily hold his blaster with both hands. His blaster hand is sculpted such that when held, his finger actually sits on the trigger which I think was a nice touch.

Fett comes with a wide array of weapons to include a short sword with sheath, a blaster rifle, an arm mounted musket, and five unique kunai that attach to his shin armor. All of the kunai attach very securely except for one that likes to fall out when moving Fetts ankle. I really like all the little throwing knives, it brings a huge amount of detail to his legs, and the fact that he can actually hold them is a credit to the designers attention to detail.

One of my favorite things about these figures is how well the hands are sculpted. The hands are one of the areas that the eye is naturally drawn too, and the figures dynamically sculpted hands lend a lot of detail to the figure.

Ronin Boba Fett’s high level of detail, excellent paint, dynamic articulation and wide range of accessories come together to make a figure that is not only pretty to look at, but a ton of fun to pose and handle. Ronin Fett is a excellent addition to the Movie Realization line and definitely has me excited for the next release.
