Combattler V

Don’t let your eyes fool you. This is not the vintage gokin. This is THE CHOGOKIN. This is the small-sized reissue from 2004. Bandai did a whole series of scaled-down replicas of their most famous ST Chogokin.

In this case, it’s Combattler-V.

The box is scaled down as well, but mimics the original. If you are not looking close at auction listings, you could easily confuse this with the real thing.

The toy, for all purposes, is an exact, scaled down replica of the GA-54 Chogokin toy.

The view from the back gives away a few differences. For one, the screws have not scaled down, and are therefore huge on the back.

Articulation is the same, meaning, not much.

The fists fire, although not strongly.

The head ship launches with the push of a button.

The feet bend and the treads go down for Grandasher mode.

If you can’t afford the cash to drop on the original, this is the next best thing.
