D-Style Dancouga

Toy Number: 07
Scale: non-scale

I was given this non-scale plastic model to review. It is 07 Dancouga by Kotobukiya. It’s part of the D-style line, which are basically pre-painted snap together models.
It comes in a cardboard box with cool graphics.

When opened has model sprues in various bags and an instruction manual (in numbers and letters to follow…thank god!.)

I never do models (you will see why at the end) and I am a perfect person to review this model. If I can follow the directions and assemble it, a chimpanzee with a hangover can do it.

The model assembled in around 15 minutes and got easier the closer I got to the end.

It has rubber pegs that lock together…

The only issue I had with the model was that the barrels on the backpack were not sealed like the picture and looked cheap.

I am not a fan of the “kid” proportioned robots, but it looks cool and does pose nicely.

The arms are kind of limited but no big issues on my end.

The model is colored but requires painting to be true to cover art. They do provide a nice graphic to follow. My attempt is below…you have been warned.

Overall a nicely designed model with novice class for assembly and medium difficultly to paint. If you’re into Dancouga, D-Style line, and/or Kotobukiya, grab one.

The model is better left unpainted if your are as “aesthetically challenged” as I am.
