G.I. Joe is the name of the franchise and the good guys. But heroes aren’t much without villains. And G.I. Joe has some of the best in their opposition, Cobra, a ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule the world.

Wave 1 of Classified only has one villain, but Destro is top-tier. I’ve already reviewed Roadblock ( https://www.collectiondx.com/toy_review/roadblock )  & Snake-Eyes ( https://www.collectiondx.com/toy_review/hasbro/snakeeyes ), so we’ve established Classified figures have great articulation and some variation in size and proportions. Going forward, I’m focusing more on looks and what each figure has.

Destro here has a modern take on his classic design, a black suit and a metal mask. The mask is an heirloom and symbol of his family history, a legacy of arms dealing going back centuries.

With size & sculpting, his outfit appears tactical. Besides the boots and pads, there are gauntlets, a belt, a holster, and some type of padding or material on parts of his chest, shoulders, and back. It’s all sort of simple, but looks custom rather than generic, which fits his background.

Destro

For accessories, he comes out of the box wearing his necklace. The gem is another family hallmark that goes back even further than the mask.

Also out of box, he has a wrist-mounted rocket launcher complete with three rockets. They’re permanently attached.

The holster that hangs from his belt is for a golden gun. It looks nice, but the color makes the details a little hard to pick out. Can’t tell if it’s more real or sci-fi. The holster is also banded around, so posing his right leg gets a little wiggy.

Destro

He has a larger gun with a scope that matches his black/red motif.

And most interesting, because it’s so different, he has a Cobra briefcase.

It snaps open, and contains a keyboard, display, and what could either be stacks of cash money or explosives. You decide.

Destro

Technically, Destro has never really been a member of Cobra. He’s more of a third-party, and they’re his best client. He thinks a world at war is what’s best for humanity and his business. So, he’s not afraid to play all sides to further his own agendas. His Classified figure gives me all those vibes, so for $20+, he’s cool.
