Two words come to mind when you first lay your hands on the DX Sazabi: Big Red.

DX Sazabi DX Sazabi DX Sazabi

This DX Gundam towers over the other DXs in the series. He is just plain massive. When you first open him, be prepared to put together a lot of stuff. His gun, shield and Fin Fannels (those red things on his back) all have to be assembled. It will take you some time. Make sure you have a hobby knife or something to trim off all the parts.

He is packed with features. The cockpit opens on the head, the backpack is removable, the axe has a telescoping handle, all the individual fin fannels are removable and open up. Although it is not advertised, you can remove the lower leg armor to reveal the skeleton and positionable boosters. He also comes with a Gun (with moveable clip), a beam saber, beam tomahawk (with 2 different blades) and a shield.

Unfortunately there are a couple of design flaws to be aware of. First thing is never grab Sazabi by the legs. They slide out easily, and disaster could occur. DX Sazabi Also, some of the joints are obstructed by other parts. You can’t turn his waist without extensive modification. The cockpit barely opens so you can’t see what’s under it. I could never understand why these toys didn’t come with variant hands when a MSIA figure comes with 6 different ones, but this toy is severely in need of a fist with a trigger finger.

It’s a great toy, but good luck finding one.
