Ezra Bridger's Speeder
I think collectively we all slept on Rebels toys. They came out alongside The Force Awakens, and often in the same line, so no wonder they got buried. Now, with the popularity of Ahsoka, prices are creeping up! These toys were actually exactly what I want out of a Star Wars line. Simple articulation, good sculpts and a great price point.
Ezra Bridger’s Speeder came out in 2015 and I think cost about $15 at the time. As part of The Force Awakens toyline, it has that movies’ branding, but of course this is not in the film at all.
The set includes a speeder, Ezra and his Lightsaber.
Ezra is a nice and simple 3 3/4″ scale figure with 5 points of articulation. He’s got his first season haircut and the scars on his face from his fight with the Inquisitor at the end of the season.
The Lightsaber blade is removable from the hilt, and the hilt can be stored on Ezra’s hip.
The speeder is a very kid-friendly green. It’s deceptively simple, but there’s a few cool things going on here.
The handlebars move up and down, and the pedals have pegs for Ezra’s feet. The whole control system slides back so Ezra can fit snug in the seat.
The rear of the speeder opens to reveal a compartment for accessory storage. The tab on the lid is to secure Ezra’s Lightsaber hilt! A great touch. There’s even nice detailing inside the compartment, with some other tab-like things that I would not be suprised to learn had another purpose.
Another neat touch, there’s storage for the Lightsaber blade under the speeder!
So much care and love went into designing this toy. The great sculpt, the foot pegs for the figure that can HOLD THE CONTROLS, the sliding movement for the control assembly, the compartment with the weapon storage, and even a place for the Lightsaber blade! It really is fantastic in almost every way.
