Ferris Wheel
This Ferris Wheel building block set comes from a new-to-me company out of China called HuiNiu. The set consists of 813 pcs and is designed for ages 6 and up. The draw of this set is that the wheel is motorized, and also includes a light kit! Let’s take a look!

The box is sturdy, and the design makes this feel more for kids than the adult collector, but I think either audience will like it.
All the bags are numbered and correspond to the steps in the included instruction book. 6 “AA” batteries are required but not included. Check out our video below for how the build went:
This took me about 4 hours to build, and it it is made up of mostly very tiny parts. I had not built something like this before, so I was really interested in the engineering of this kit. The final build is 11 inches tall and 9 inches wide.
All the details are tampo-printed, so there are no decals to apply. The kit had no missing parts, and all the parts were in good condition with no scuffing and the fit (clutch) of each part was great.
It uses a gear system attached to a motor that is powered by 6 “AA” batteries, which seems like a lot of batteries to power a simple motion. For long term use, you may want to invest in a Lego battery to USB adapter, so it can be plugged into any USB power brick.
The LED lights that are included are one multi-color string with a control box, which did have a battery included. Unfortunately the instructions don’t show you how to use the LED lights in the build itself, so you have to figure that out on your own. I wrapped them around the outer wheel and threaded them through the holes on the white parts. The string is long enough to go around the wheel once.
One button on the box controls the lights. There are three settings – fast blink, regular blink, and then steady on.
I would avoid the fast blink setting if you are prone to seizures. When it is all lit up, it looks fantastic!
Overall it’s a fun kit – not something I would have bought on my own, but I’m glad I had the opportunity to build it. You can get the HuiNiu Ferris Wheel kit on Amazon
